Paiute Tribe
The Paiute Tribe is actually composed of many different smaller tribes across the whole south west of the United States. The name “Paiute” mean the “True Ute” but they called themselves “Numa” which means “People”
Before Europeans they were mainly roamers and moved into the South West United States around the year 1,000 AD and remain there ever since.
The tribe had many hostile feelings against the white man and fought a series of wars with the non-natives, namely the Pyramid Lake War and the Snake Indian War. In the end the tribes where forced onto reservations like all the other native tribes.
