The campground is actually an RTV campground and cost $16 to make a reservation. It is a fantastic place to take a fishing/camping trip. In fact the lake is stocked with 100,000s of rainbow trout every month, that means there is a potential to have an unbelievable fishing story.

History

I really like the history of how the creek came to be made because it shows what people can do if they keep pushing for something. Anyways here is the story.

otter creek
In 1897 early Mormon farmers settled in the land and needed a source of irrigation. So they decided to build a dam even though no one in the settlement had any experience. They applied for the water right and funds from the government.

Well they got the ok to build the dam but their funds were shot down. Despite having no prior experience in building dams and lack of funds the settlers decided to start construction. The next year they did get funding and the dam stood for several years before they needed to do repairs on it.

Otter creek reservoir was the result of this dam!
