Navajo Nation’s Monument Valley Utah (Arizona)
Monument Valley Utah is a section in the southern Utah and northern Arizona. The scenery of Monument Valley is legendary and has been used in more western movies than anywhere else in the US. Monument Valley Geology The Monument valley geology goes back hundreds of millions of years. Materials which eroded from nearby Rock Mountains piled up and cemented together after millions of years to form large Sandstone buttes. Around 50 million years wind and water started tearing apart the structures slowly giving them the beautiful shapes that we see today. Hotels and ToursThe View hotel inside monument Valley offers rooms, a restaurant and tours. And it is the only hotel within a 45 minute drive to the park. (although the Goulding Lodge is only 4 miles away) One thing I did want to add here was the terrible service I received at the view hotel's restaurant. For about a half hour no one was waiting on us until we got the manager, and even then service was slow. Even so it is still a great trip. The View offers tours which will put you in a jeep and take you down up close to the structures. They are well worth it if you have the time. Here are some great monument valley pictures of the park.
The Scenery of monument valley is truly breathtaking. Here are some more monument valley photos
The park has a $5 entrance fee but that is refunded if you stay at the view. The park information is.
