Mexican Hat Utah

I have heard about the Mexican hat Utah attraction and had no clue what it was. But we were traveling down the US 163 (which is the only road that goes through the city) and we decided to take a look. At first I did not believe my eyes the town is very small, houses less than 100 people.

There are gas stations, restaurants, and hotels, which make it a good place to stock up, but nothing to extraordinary to see. That was my thought until I left the city and found the large rock structure which the city is named after.

The Mexican Hat rock formation consists of a very large flat rock balancing on a smaller rock. This gives it the appearance of a large rock like person wearing a Mexican Sombrero. It is a very interesting site to see and makes you think of how beautiful nature can be from time to time.

It makes for a great picture if you are in Navajo nation and traveling east on the 163 it makes for a wonderful picture opportunity that should not be passed up.
