5 Great Fishing Ponds near St George

Are you near St George and want to go to a neighborhood fishing pond? Well you are in luck because there are a number of excellent fishing spots nearby. In fact here are 5 great fishing ponds all within 20 minutes of St George.

1. Tawa Ponds

There are two Tawa ponds, the upper ponds and the lower ponds. They are an excellent place to catch Largemouth Bass, Bluegill Green Sunfish, and Rainbow Trout. There is a 2 fish limit and it is encouraged to toss fish back into the water after catching them. These strict rules help to preserve the fish that are already in the pond.

2. Skyline Pond

Skyline pond is an interesting little pond located at 800 E Skyline Dr. There is also a 2 fish limit at this fishing hot spot.

3. Razor Ridge

Razor Ridge is a new fishing community. The pond is restocked periodically and there is a 4 fish limit to all fishermen. Common fish include Trout, Channel Catfish, and Bluegill. The pond is located at 6300 W/Telegraph St in Washington.

4. Grandpa’s Fishing Pond

To reach this pond take Highway 9 and turn North at 3700 West. The pond is several block past that and is located on a dirt road. It also has a 4 fish limit with the exception of the Virgin River Chub. If you catch a Virgin River Chub it must be released back into the lake. There are signs to help you identify the fish.

Kolab reservoir (also known as Kolab creek) is located 20 miles north of Virgin.
