Delicate Arch trail
The Delicate arch trail is a very nice walk which ends at Utah’s most famous rock formation. It is an excellent hike which you must go to when visiting the park.
The arch’s formation occurred after millions of years of erosion. Water would get into the cracks of the rock and slowly create a hole, until it got to the point it is at today.
This is the most famous arch for a reason. It is extremely beautiful and is surrounded by a fantastic background view of the canyon below.
There are two hikes you can go on to see this structure. The main trail is about 3 miles round trip and can be a hard hike.
The hike can be difficult, especially during the summer because there is little shade to keep you away from the sun. And in 105 degree Fahrenheit weather that can be very hard to handle. So bring lots of water.
This trail does lead you directly to the arch, and you can see it up front and personal.
The second way to view the arch is through the viewpoint. The viewpoint is only a .5 mile hike and is very easy to do. But you do not get to walk right up to the arch. Instead you end at a viewpoint 1.5 miles away from it.
You can still see it pretty clear, so it can be a happy alternative, especially if you have been hiking all day and want to do something easy. Here are a few delicate arch photographs that you might enjoy.
